Open the official game
Launch Survive a Million Monkeys by gorilla warfare.. You start with a tutorial before moving into the lobby and co-op runs.
Complete the five-wave tutorial
The recorded tutorial teaches weapon upgrades, throwing a grenade, placing a barricade and using an ultimate. Its objective reads Survive Waves 0/5, followed by a helicopter rescue sequence. Normal play continues beyond five waves.
Claim the tutorial upgrades
Follow Dimitri’s lobby prompts:
- Open Weapons and select Pow Pow.
- Claim the tutorial FREE offer and equip it.
- Take the free first Pow Pow upgrade.
- Open Classes and upgrade Survivor’s Grenade once for free.
- Inspect Engineer, then head to Play.
These free offers are shown during this tutorial; they are not a general claim that every upgrade is free.
Check the lobby
Weapons, Play and Classes are available from the bottom navigation. The recorded Play platform shows four slots, with a setup countdown after a player joins.
Check code announcements
Try MONKEYS and SURVIVE, each listed for 1,000 Gems. Open Codes near the top-right of the lobby, enter the text and confirm. The source footage shows the input box, but no successful code redemption.
Plan your spending
Use Gems for lobby unlocks and upgrades. During a run, cash pays for weapon progression, health and abilities. Follow the cash and upgrade guide before comparing prices across these screens.

How do I start my first run?
Complete the tutorial, claim the free Pow Pow and grenade upgrade offers, then enter a Play platform. Read the Survivor abilities before your next run.
Why do I keep dying, and what should I change?
Watch approaching groups and your cash balance. Our practical advice is to coordinate movement with teammates and keep enough cash for the abilities you use, rather than spending everything at once. The footage shows players using barricades, grenades and Airstrike as crowds grow.
